The role involves collaborating with global cross-functional teams to identify opportunities to improve sourcing methods and costs, as well as yield improvements, translating ideas into projects to support gross margin goals. The successful candidate will lead a cross-functional task force to benchmark foundry/OSAT costs and yields, and drive a company-wide roadmap to implement changes at the product and process levels to reduce cost and improve gross margins.

What You'll Do

  • Actively participate in cross functional business reviews to understand cost implications to decisions during product development and operations and their impact on margins.
  • Lead cross-functional cost reviews to report actual versus target costs, risks and opportunities and align senior management to status, roadmap and risks.
  • Contribute to cost modelling, establish and refine product cost targets from early development stages and use them to drive changes.
  • Identify and manage all aspects of the financial health of targeted semiconductor products from ideation and design through end of life.
  • Ensure best practices for cost management are shared across different teams and changes are successfully implemented.

What We're Looking For

  • BS or higher in Engineering, Science, or related fields with 10-15 years of related experience or Masters/Ph.D. with 5-10 years in the semiconductor industry.
  • 5+ years of experience in product operations in a Fabless semiconductor company or an integrated device manufacturer.
  • Knowledge of Semiconductor Manufacturing and its Supply Chain and cost structure, and the tradeoffs to meet product cost and profitability.
  • Experience working with teams with diverse cultural and geographic backgrounds.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills from first principles and the ability to communicate effectively across the organization.
  • Excellent data analysis skills with a statistical mindset and the ability to identify correlations between product cost, sourcing costs, performance and margins.
  • Solid understanding of yield/test methodologies and foundry/packaging related issues and associated cost modeling.
  • High level software skills to automate data pulls and generate automated reports (desirable).
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to succinctly summarize key indicators, results and risks to senior management.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities and gain executive commitment to drive them to closure.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with automation/scripting tools and data visualization is a plus.
