Meta is seeking an engineering director to join our Central Integrity team which exists to keep billions of people safe on Meta's platforms. We design and deploy systems that detect and disrupt harm at an unprecedented global scale, making this one of the largest deployments of AI for positive real-world impact anywhere in the industry. Our work safeguards critical areas including child and youth safety, fraud and scams, identity and authenticity and more while actively building defenses against novel frontier threats, such as autonomous AI agents and automated risk vectors. This represents some of the most technically demanding and high-stakes engineering and product at Meta, driven by a deeply mission-focused team. You'll combine strong engineering fundamentals with cutting-edge AI to build effective, adaptable solutions that stay ahead of evolving integrity and safety risks. Director Software Engineering - Central Integrity Responsibilities

• Define and drive the engineering strategy for Integrity Measurement Platform, with a focus on AI and LLM-powered measurement capabilities
• Lead engineering and research talent to build trusted, customer-first measurement platforms and metrics
• Partner with senior leaders across Central Integrity, Meta's apps, and Monetization to shape strategy and inform consequential product decisions
• Drive technical vision for LLM-powered measurement and AI agents that explain metric changes and support investigations
• Build shared capabilities that help teams across Meta move faster in understanding and managing risk
• Champion customer obsession by starting with customer outcomes and building trusted partnerships with senior leadership
• Attract, develop, and retain engineering talent with a high bar for reliable platforms, data pipelines, and operational excellence
• Guide a highly technical organization through the AI transformation of measurement capabilities
• Drive org health by proactively diagnosing and addressing issues surfaced through team feedback and manager effectiveness data
• Represent engineering perspective in executive-level planning and strategic decision-making for Integrity measurement initiatives

Minimum Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on front end or UI development
• 7+ years of engineering management experience, including managing engineering managers
• Track record of building and scaling engineering organizations, including recruiting, developing, and managing the performance of engineers and engineering leaders
• Experience forming cross-functional partnerships across product, design, and data science to deliver large-scale engineering outcomes
• Experience reasoning rigorously with metrics and data, with understanding of statistical uncertainty, bias, and ecosystem trade-offs

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with integrity, trust and safety, or content moderation systems
• Track record of driving cross-org collaboration and building trusted partnerships with senior leadership
• Experience leading engineering teams through significant platform or tooling transitions, including AI-powered capabilities
• Commitment to protecting people and businesses, with commitment to making platforms safer
• Experience applying AI and LLMs to measurement, analytics, or data platform challenges

United States of America: $271,000/year to $347,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
