About the Role Director, Product Management, Industrial Treatment Solutions at Xylem. Lead the product strategy, global roadmap, lifecycle management, and cross-functional execution to deliver market-leading water treatment solutions. Drive customer-centric value and collaborate across marketing, sales, R&D, and operations.

What You'll Do

  • Define the product strategy and develop the global solutions roadmap including business case, product positioning, value proposition per product line, volume and price to inform development and marketing.
  • Manage the multi-year roadmap for the global product line, including new product development, value improvements, product introductions, phase-outs, and product training.
  • Collaborate with Vertical Marketing to develop regional/local launch plans that enable sales, including launches, application areas, and product brand thought leadership; provide content support.
  • Assign and own the XPD process by actively driving the tollgate process: develop the business case, product requirements, and alignment with customer and market needs.
  • Understand and specify market requirements, competition, and technology trends for current and future products; conduct market research, VOC, customer visits, and collaborate with local-regional product managers and vertical marketing.
  • Develop appealing, and where possible quantified, value propositions validated through market research and VOC data inputs.
  • Package the product, solutions, and services by framing offers per application and applicable value propositions.
  • Monitor competition in terms of market performance, product portfolio, and product performance.
  • Sales and Profitability: provide data for S&OP, own global product sales and margin plan; implement countermeasures to close gaps.
  • Follow up on sales, orders, and standard margin to reach targets; update pricing guidelines across markets and maintain the International Price List.
  • Lifecycle Management: manage launch to end-of-life strategy, identify sweet spots in market verticals, ensure solution competitiveness, and develop business cases for decisions.
  • Lead product launches with cross-functional teams (Vertical Marketing, Commercial, Communications); ensure proper resource allocation, timing, pricing, availability, training materials, and communications.
  • Guardianship & Support: contribute to content development and technical performance of products, participate in technical meetings and industry events.
  • Branding: ensure the product offering reflects brand values; contribute to thought leadership content (e.g., white papers).
  • Leadership & People/Team Development: foster a customer-centric culture, hire and develop talent, succession planning, coaching, and safety.
  • Culture and Personal Development: role-model quality and continuous improvement, support employee retention.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering (accredited). MBA preferred; Master’s degree in Business Administration desirable. A minimum of 5 to 10 years of prior product management experience.
  • Ability to develop business cases and lead cross-functional initiatives; strong communication and collaboration skills; experience with VOC and market research.
  • Familiarity with lifecycle management, pricing strategy, and global market considerations; understanding of S&OP processes and regional launches.
