Job title: Director Patient Financial Services
About the Role Director of Patient Financial Services (PFS) provides direct oversight for Billing, Collections, Customer Service and Cash Application units, and is responsible for operation and management of Accounts Receivable. The role coordinates daily activities related to planning, implementing and maintaining all functions pertinent to the PFS area to meet performance goals such as cash, A/R days, production by area, and denial reduction while monitoring industry changes affecting billing and collections for the organization.
What You'll Do
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for Billing, Collections, Customer Service, and Cash Application; oversee Accounts Receivable management.
- Coordinate the daily activities related to planning, implementing, and maintaining all functions within the PFS area.
- Meet performance goals including cash collections, A/R days, production by area, and denial reduction.
- Monitor changes in the healthcare industry impacting billing and collection efforts for the organization.
- Collaborate with other revenue cycle teams and hospital leadership to achieve organizational goals.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA or MHA preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years demonstrated leadership experience in billing and/or collections in an acute care hospital setting.
- Extensive knowledge of government and commercial payer requirements to ensure accurate and compliant charging and billing of hospital inpatient, outpatient, surgical and ancillary services.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact effectively with all levels within the organization.
- Mastery of hospital revenue cycle operations; knowledge of reimbursement methodologies; knowledge of regulatory publications; excellent analytical, organizational, and research skills.
