Job title: Director of Title IX Compliance & Education
About the Role Leads the university's Title IX program to ensure compliance with Title IX and related discrimination laws. Develops and implements a comprehensive Title IX training, education, prevention, and response program. Serves as a subject matter expert and collaborates across campus to foster a safe, healthy, and supportive environment and coordinate with external organizations.
What You'll Do
- Provide general oversight and administration of assigned Title IX program initiatives, including supervision of staff, setting work plans, training new employees, and evaluating performance.
- Serve as the primary investigator and response point for reports of sexual harassment, gender-based discrimination, intimate partner violence, and stalking involving students; manage the Title IX grievance process and interim measures.
- Gather and assess evidence; communicate rights, resources, and process information to students, faculty, staff, witnesses, and others; maintain related records.
- Develop, maintain, and disseminate clear Title IX policies and procedures; ensure compliance with federal and state regulations; act as point of contact for the university's Title IX policy and procedures.
- Design and deliver training materials for prevention, response, advisor, decision-maker, and appellate officer trainings; coordinate campus-wide education for faculty, staff, and students.
- Collaborate with campus partners and provide prevention and response education to foster a safe environment; stay current on compliance requirements and best practices and related laws.
- Develop and revise written and online Title IX materials; ensure wide distribution and access to community resources.
- Lead complex projects, including implementation plans, timelines, and resource assessment for initiatives such as the Ohio Department of Higher Education's Changing Campus Culture Initiative.
- Collect and analyze data for regulatory reporting; prepare reports and recommendations for leadership; maintain statistical data for Title IX and state reviews; work with Clery Officer on Annual Security Report.
- Engage in strategic planning; develop long-range plans aligned with university strategy; oversee multiple programs with significant operational scope.
- Assist with training new hires and perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in Title IX compliance, investigations, policy development and implementation.
- Knowledge of Title IX, Ohio Higher Education regulations, Clery Act, Campus SaVE Act, and CAMPUS ACT; ability to interpret regulations and advise others.
- Strong leadership, supervision, project management, and ability to coordinate cross-unit initiatives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to work with diverse stakeholders (students, faculty, staff, and external partners).
- Data collection, analysis, and reporting skills; ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.
- Commitment to confidentiality, ethics, and fostering a safe, inclusive campus environment.
- Experience designing and delivering training; ability to develop and maintain clear policies and training materials.
