Job title: Director of SoC Design
About the Role Lead and build Marvell’s new San Diego design organization within CCSBU to deliver high-quality custom silicon for AI compute platforms. You will shape design strategy, hire and mentor a multi-disciplinary team, and partner with customers and internal teams from architecture to post-silicon to drive end-to-end SoC programs.
What You'll Do
- Manage and grow a team of complex sub-system, co-processors, accelerators and SoC engineers, coordinating with design, verification, and physical design teams.
- Develop methodologies and infrastructure addressing evolving semiconductor process, I/O, networking bandwidth, embedded cores, and co-processors.
- Collaborate with architecture, SoCs, software, firmware, program management and post-silicon design teams for plan development and execution.
- Provide technical mentoring for team members and foster continuous improvement in methodologies and automation.
- Own schedules and reporting of progress metrics, ensuring alignment with budgets and market timing.
What We're Looking For
- BS degree or higher in EE, CE, or CS.
- 12-15+ years of RTL and/or verification experience.
- 3+ years of experience managing a design team.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team and communicate effectively with team members, marketing, and other engineering groups.
- Experience in all phases of design from concept through productization.
- Demonstrated mentoring of junior staff.
- Ability to recruit and retain engineering talent.
Nice to Have
- Experience leading custom SoC initiatives for AI/XPU programs.
- Familiarity with cutting-edge semiconductor processes, high-speed I/O, networking bandwidth, embedded cores, and co-processors.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: USD 197,400 – 292,150 per year.
