Job title: Director of Sales
About the Role The Director of Sales will work onsite at our flagship site in Muskegon, Michigan. Relocation support is available for non-local candidates. The role is responsible for developing, executing and managing Cannon-Muskegon’s global sales and marketing plan to support Cannon Muskegon’s strategic goals, budget and financial objectives.
What You'll Do
- Act as sales executive in charge of managing the company’s global sales and marketing operations and all sales/marketing personnel.
- Develop and implement sales and marketing strategic plans to maintain competitiveness and support overall financial goals.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of markets, industry developments, customer concerns, and economic conditions.
- Serve as company ombudsman to promote the interests of the company to customers and markets.
- Analyze sales reports and take actions to achieve desired results.
- Oversee professional development of the sales department, including systems, staffing and training to optimize performance.
- Conduct sales and marketing analysis; prepare reports and presentations for staff, corporate officials, customers and others as required to communicate and facilitate the interests of the company.
- Ensure resolution of customer complaints and sales or service issues.
- Ensure compliance with EH&S policies and 6-S initiatives; supervise department personnel.
- Additional hours may occasionally be needed to ensure all deliverables are completed timely.
What We're Looking For
- Four-year degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or related field; and/or ten to fifteen (10–15) years’ minimum experience in marketing or sales of primary alloys preferred.
- Strong Project Management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in implementation or maintenance of document control system.
- Experience in implementation or maintenance of learning management system (LMS).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with personnel at all organizational levels.
