About this role

About the Role The Director of Research at Compass will lead data-driven insights for our owner/developer clients, leadership, and project management teams in South Florida. This role combines market expertise and analytical rigor to transform raw data from multiple sources into actionable research, and to guide strategy and decision-making. You’ll manage an Analyst to maintain databases and deliver external-facing research and internal CRM processes.

What You'll Do

  • Establish a Strong Point of View with deep understanding of Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach submarkets.
  • Collect and analyze data from listing feeds, city/county departments, industry publications, internal data sets, and competitive intelligence; oversee the Analyst responsible for data management.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity through manual and automated quality control; develop market reports, competitive analyses, buyer/seller trends, and pipeline/due diligence deliverables.
  • Create concise dashboards and reports; develop KPIs to track market trends; present findings to internal teams and senior management.
  • Prepare Market Reports for Sales and Leasing, Comparable Sets, Future Supply (Pipeline Reports), Amenity Studies, Due Diligence Reports, and ad hoc reporting as needed.

What We're Looking For

  • At least 5 years’ experience in research/analysis in the South Florida market.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Political Science, Computer Science, Statistics, etc.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (heavy emphasis on Excel), Google Sheets, Data Transformation, ETL.
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate and present findings to internal teams and clients.
  • Experience transforming raw data into actionable research for stakeholders.

Nice to Have

  • Advanced Excel experience including Power Query and DAX.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, Python, etc.
  • Working knowledge of visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau).
  • Experience with CRM tools (Salesforce, Spark, etc.).
