About the Role The role reports to the Commissioner of Agriculture and Economic Affairs and leads the production and management of harmonized, high-quality statistics for CEDEAO, as well as regional economic research on integration. The incumbent will ensure the methodological guidance necessary for statistics harmonization and build the regional databases needed to manage and disseminate quality statistics. They will mobilize financial and technical resources to support regional statistics and research. What You'll Do
- Coordinate the CEDEAO Regional Statistical System and ensure the implementation of the CEDEAO Policy and Statistical Programme, in collaboration with national and regional institutions.
- Lead the development and maintenance of updated statistical databases covering regional statistics.
- Mobilize financial and technical resources for regional statistics and research.
- Provide leadership in the development and adoption of methodological guides for the production and harmonization of statistics. What We're Looking For
- Strong leadership and senior-level experience in statistics and regional economic research.
- Proven ability to coordinate with national and regional institutions and to work across governance structures.
- Experience in building, managing, and disseminating integrated statistical databases.
- Ability to mobilize resources (financial and technical) to support statistics and research.
- Knowledge of statistical methods, data governance, and regional data harmonization. Nice to Have
- Experience with regional integration studies or work within intergovernmental organizations.
- Familiarity with data platforms and statistical software.
- Multilingual abilities and experience in the West Africa context.
