ThredUp runs one of the biggest resale operations on the planet, and our distribution centers are where the whole thing actually happens. Every item someone sends us gets received, inspected, photographed, listed, stored, picked, and shipped back out; by our teams, in our buildings. We’re looking for a Director, Operations to lead DC06 in Georgia, one of the biggest and most demanding sites in the network.
-
DC06 is a 350,000+ square foot, heavily automated building that runs close to around the clock. Every shift, every day, weekends included, with 600+ team members moving product through inbound, outbound, and returns. As the site leader, you'll be trusted to lead this operation and the people who make it run.
-
You'll report to the VP of Operations and carry full P&L accountability for the site. You'll lead through an Operations Manager and a team of Area Managers, and you'll be responsible for building a team and culture where people want to do their best work. Safety, performance, cost, and the experience of our team members are yours to lead, in partnership with your peers across the network.
-
What you’ll own
-
The whole building and the P&L that comes with it, this is your site to run
-
A safety culture you set from the floor, not a poster in the break room, everyone goes home the way they came in, every shift
-
The daily pulse of the operation across inbound, outbound, and returns, millions of secondhand items moving through your doors and back out into the world
-
The scorecard: productivity, safety, quality, and cost per item, you’ll know these numbers cold and so will your team
-
Staffing a 20/7 operation that never really sleeps, matching labor to a volume curve that doesn’t sit still
-
Hunting down every wasted step, bad layout, and automation gain hiding in the building, then going after it
-
A real say in the facility and capital decisions that shape what this site can do next
-
Building the leadership bench under you, growing Area Managers into the operators who run this place next
-
What you bring
-
10+ years running high-volume distribution or fulfillment operations, with the results to show for it
-
A track record of owning a P&L and actually moving the numbers; cost, productivity, safety, quality
-
A real history of building safety cultures that stick, with OSHA and the regulatory side handled
-
Experience leading big hourly teams across multiple shifts in a heavily automated building
-
Fluency with warehouse management systems and the whole tech stack a modern DC runs on
-
A head for the data and the discipline to run the site by it, not by gut
-
The flexibility to lead a seven-day operation; weekends, holidays, and the occasional late-night call when the building needs you
-
A bachelor’s degree
-
Bonus points
-
A master’s degree
-
Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous-improvement chops
-
Time spent in resale, reverse logistics, or returns-heavy operations
-
Where
-
Onsite at DC06 in Georgia. This one’s hands-on. You lead it from the floor, not from a laptop.
-
This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
