Director of Facilities Requirements & Qualifications
10+ years of progressive experience in facilities maintenance, preferably in multi-unit restaurant or retail environments. 5+ years of leadership experience managing multi-site teams and vendors. Deep technical knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, and commercial kitchen equipment. EPA Certification required. HVAC/Refrigeration certification or equivalent technical training required. Experience with maintenance management systems (e.g., ServiceChannel, Corrigo, EkoTrak). Strong skills in strategic planning, R&M cost management, and vendor negotiation. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Valid driver’s license and ability to pass MVR screening. Willing and able to travel 25–40%.
Director of Facilities Preferred Background & Skills
Background in organizations with $500M–$1B revenue and 200+ locations. Familiarity with mechanical codes and regulatory compliance. Exceptional interpersonal skills — able to connect authentically with all roles from frontline staff to C-suite.
Director of Facilities Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and grow a distributed team of 19+ facility coaches and technicians. Oversee maintenance for 200+ restaurant locations, balancing in-house and outsourced models. Drive cost-effective, efficient R&M operations and strategies. Analyze data to improve asset performance and reduce downtime. Manage vendor relationships and negotiate service agreements. Ensure compliance with mechanical, state, and federal codes. Foster a positive, growth-oriented culture across all teams.
