Position Overview
iRESTORE seeks a Director of Fulfillment & Logistics to own our multi-node fulfillment network end to end: the La Mirada, CA warehouse, an Eastern U.S. 3PL partner, and the shipping and logistics that connect them. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this leader owns the fulfillment operating budget, the hourly warehouse workforce, carrier and 3PL relationships, and the decisions that shape the network as we scale: node count, in-house versus outsourced, and cost per order.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You will run the day-to-day operation, lead and grow the team, and set the year-out strategy for how the network looks and what it costs to get there.
Responsibilities
-
Own the long term multi-node fulfillment network. Decide node count, locations, allocation logic between nodes, and total landed cost per order.
-
Own the fulfillment operating budget end to end: labor, facilities, freight, and supplies. Forecast it, defend it, and answer for the variance.
-
Select, negotiate, and manage 3PL and carrier partners. Own contracts, SLAs, exit terms, and quarterly business reviews, and make the call to switch providers when the numbers say so.
-
Lead and develop the fulfillment team, including warehouse supervision and operations coordinators. Build staffing models against the volume curve and plan capacity ahead of peak.
-
Own labor and safety compliance for an hourly California workforce: wage and hour, meal and rest, scheduling, safety, and injury reporting.
-
Own shipping cost as a managed line. Run carrier rate reviews, manage zone and carrier mix, and drive cost per order down.
-
Own fulfillment performance: ship-speed SLA, order accuracy, RMA SLA, cost per order, and inventory accuracy. Report weekly in a consistent, decision-ready format.
-
Scale fulfillment capacity across the warehouse, the 3PL, and future nodes to meet peak seasonal demand, which hits several times a year.
-
Own the SOPs and controls across the operation. Design the controls rather than just run the checks.
Qualifications
-
10+ years in fulfillment, logistics, or distribution operations, including multi-node network ownership and people leadership at a manager-of-managers level.
-
Ran more than one fulfillment node at the same time (own warehouse plus 3PL, or multiple 3PLs) and owned the allocation logic between them.
-
Owned an operating budget for labor, facilities, freight, and supplies, with real forecasting and variance ownership.
-
Managed an hourly warehouse workforce in California: wage and hour, meal and rest, scheduling, safety, and injury reporting.
-
Selected 3PLs and carriers, negotiated contracts and exit terms, switched providers, and held partners to an SLA in writing.
-
Amazon fulfillment experience from the shipper's side: sending inbound shipments and replenishment from an in-house warehouse into Amazon (FBA), meeting FC routing and prep requirements, and avoiding chargebacks.
-
Carrier and parcel rate management with a track record of reducing shipping cost across zones and carrier mix.
-
Operational leadership that holds up under peak pressure: sets clear goals, and develops managers
-
Experience with Fulfil.io ERP. Comparable ERP or OMS experience (NetSuite or others) is welcome if you have not used Fulfil.
-
Fulfillment experience in a regulated consumer category (medical device, health, or beauty).
-
Experience standing up or scaling a new 3PL relationship or an additional fulfillment node.
