Job Title: Director of Financial Assistance

GENERAL SUMMARY: Member of the Enrollment Management leadership team responsible for the effective administration of all financial aid programs and policies for CMU students.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Direct and manage student financial aid operations and programs
• Maintain institutional compliance for Title IV programs
• Assure proper counsel and advice to students and their families about financial aid opportunities
• Oversee the maintenance and integrity of information on the financial aid web page
• Ensure CMU programs and operations are administered in compliance with federal, state and institutional guidelines
• Hire, train, and supervise student financial assistance staff
• Keep abreast of financial aid trends, technologies and best practices
• Work collaboratively with appropriate University personnel to review financial processes and improvements to gain efficiencies and maximize service to students
• Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s degree-Preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree-Required; Accounting degree preferred
• Supervisor experience - Preferred
• 3-5 years of financial aid or higher education administrative experience - Preferred
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Knowledge of Prison Education Programs - Preferred

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: General knowledge of accounting principles and methods, data processing systems and computer software.

OTHER INFORMATION AND ATTRIBUTES: Typical office setting. Occasional weekend or evenings for special student events.
