About the Role This position leads a team of Claims Examiners on the Federal Workers' Compensation (WC) Claims team, directing activities in alignment with AIG Claims' mission to deliver quality service and achieve business goals. The role focuses on leadership, policy administration, and process-driven performance to maintain high standards of customer service and operational excellence.

What You'll Do

• Lead and manage a team of Claims Examiners on the Federal WC Claims team, driving achievement of stated goals through best practices and leadership.
• Provide a professional environment and promote a business culture focused on attaining results.
• Ensure understanding and administration of claim policies and procedures per company standards.
• Implement procedures to shape behaviors and achieve quality results in line with Best Claim Practices for customers and business partners.
• Evaluate and measure operational compliance with Claim Handling Guidelines; manage claim file reserving, payments, expenses, and recoveries consistent with guidelines via open/closed file reviews and other reviews.
• Ensure high quality Claim Summary Reports are completed and managed to promote customer service excellence.
• Implement a people strategy that supports training and skills improvement, increasing bench strength and career paths for the team.
• Direct and lead the team in achieving business strategies and plans in support of agreed objectives.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the office AVP and/or WC Senior Leadership.

What We're Looking For

• Proven claims adjusting experience and extensive leadership experience in a claims operation; deep understanding of Workers’ Compensation claim handling and servicing.
• Specialist knowledge of Defense Base Act claims preferred.
• Leadership skills in direction setting, change management, customer focus, and talent development.
• Analytical skills with strong business acumen and ability to work across the organization in matrix reporting relationships.
• Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Technical expertise in one or more claim functions.
• Career development, mentoring, and coaching abilities.

Nice to Have

• Specialist knowledge of Defense Base Act claims is preferred.
