Job title: Director of Event Fundraising

About the Role This role leads the strategy, planning, execution, and achievement of a $400,000+ annual fundraising event portfolio. It oversees all aspects of event fundraising—from donor relationships and sponsorships to volunteer leadership and donor stewardship—ensuring alignment with Society goals and financial growth. The incumbent will deliver a high-impact experience and drive revenue growth through events and broader cultivation efforts.

What You'll Do

  • Build, sustain, and elevate relationships with donors, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners to ensure revenue goal achievement and foster long-term engagement.
  • Ensure best-in-class event experience through planning, logistics, brand positioning, budgets, and vendor relationships.
  • Create tailored partner and donor experiences to attract and retain supporters, and align event partners with broader Society cultivation efforts to grow revenue impact through and beyond events.
  • Monitor fundraising progress and expenses against budget and benchmarks; proactively adjust strategies to exceed financial goals and optimize return on investment.
  • Effectively convenes and coordinates the different contributors to event success - marketing, coordinator support, etc.
  • Champion community presence and brand elevation, positioning events to deepen public interest and engagement.

What We're Looking For

  • Education: Minimum Bachelor's Degree; Preferred Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience: at least 2 years of successful fundraising and relationship development.
  • Skills and abilities: Experience driving revenue through sales—prospecting, identification, cultivation, solicitation, evaluation, stewardship; ability to lead high-functioning collaborative event teams; strong relationship-building, persuasion and influence; customer service orientation with experience addressing and resolving issues; ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and timelines; data-driven with proactive monitoring and adjustment; ability to build networks and remove barriers; strong market, community, and constituent knowledge.
  • Travel readiness and evenings/weekends as required.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $70,000 - $73,000 per year.
