Director of Engineering
- Lead and manage all Engineering operations across the Hotel and BDMS Connect Center, ensuring safety, reliability, efficiency, and smooth daily operations.
- Oversee building systems, MEP, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire & life safety, kitchen equipment, and hotel facilities.
- Establish and maintain clear Engineering processes, preventive maintenance systems, checklists, schedules, and tracking tools.
- Drive a preventive and predictive maintenance approach, with clear timelines and progress tracking for key areas including guest room RPM, air-conditioning, kitchen equipment, and critical building systems.
- Develop and execute a proactive CapEx plan, including asset assessment, prioritization, budgeting, project implementation, and post-project follow-up, with strong cost and quality control.
- Lead the guest room condition improvement and upgrade plan, ensuring priorities, timelines, and budgets are clearly defined and monitored.
- Champion sustainability and energy-saving initiatives, including energy efficiency, water conservation, and utility monitoring.
- Ensure effective Engineering inventory and spare parts control to support smooth operations, minimize downtime, and maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, statutory requirements, safety regulations, and audit requirements, with timely follow-up on corrective actions.
- Monitor engineering performance through KPIs, maintenance completion, breakdown trends, asset condition, utility consumption, CapEx progress, and budget utilization.
- Lead, coach, and develop the Engineering team, building a proactive, accountable, and solution-oriented culture.
- Work closely with the General Manager and Executive Committee to identify engineering risks, investment priorities, operational improvements, and long-term asset requirements.
Qualifications

Degree or diploma in Engineering or a related field.

Proven experience as a Director of Engineering / Chief Engineer, preferably in a luxury or premium hotel.

Strong technical knowledge of MEP, HVAC, building systems, and hotel equipment.

Strong experience in preventive maintenance, CapEx planning, project management, and budget.

Experience in sustainability, energy management, and engineering audits.

Strong planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Proactive, hands-on, commercially minded, and data-driven.

Strong leadership and communication skills.

Able to manage a multi-building and complex property environment.
