About the Role The Director of Development (DoD) is a major gift fundraiser reporting to the Exec Director, Family Giving. The role focuses on identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding prospects and donors to secure gifts of $100,000+ and to advance the Student Experience priorities. This position will meet donors in person and virtually, and will collaborate across university units to support on-campus student success.
What You'll Do
- Develop and manage a portfolio of prospective and existing major gift donors with the capacity to make gifts/commitments of $100,000 or more.
- Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward prospects; develop fundraising strategies including leadership annual gift solicitations.
- Communicate with donors regularly via email, virtual and face-to-face visits, phone, and handwritten notes.
- Engage donors through curated campus experiences, events and gatherings.
- Build fluency about the Student Experience Division and its programs by fostering relationships with units, faculty, and staff.
- Collaborate with the Exec Director of Family Giving to support Parent Council initiatives (bi-annual meetings, regional pipeline events, and volunteer projects) and coordinate annual solicitations and Giving Day activities.
- Coordinate and report on fundraising activities across Advancement and university partners; leverage CITRUS/CRM data to inform strategy and track outcomes.
- Ensure accuracy and timely entry of information and records.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree; minimum five years fundraising experience, ideally in Higher Education.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems; valid driver's license.
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage donor relationships, design and execute solicitation strategies, and communicate effectively.
- Willingness to travel for donor meetings and campus events as needed.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Parent Council initiatives and campus donor engagement programs.
- Familiarity with Student Experience Division programs and related university units.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $90,000 - $100,000 per year (USD).
