Job title: Director of Campus Services
About the Role The Director of Campus Services at Luther College leads, manages, and directs campus facility operations, including facilities planning, space administration, architectural/engineering/construction services, maintenance and repair, utilities, custodial and grounds, and sustainability initiatives.
What You'll Do
- Provide strategic leadership for Facilities function and formulate/administer College policies while developing long-range goals.
- Manage facility budgeting, purchasing, and real estate; drive energy/climate action plans toward carbon-reduction goals.
- Coordinate major renovations and new construction; review deferred maintenance and capital renewal.
- Prepare sensitivity analyses for budgets, energy, benchmarking, and other administrative functions; participate in risk management and business continuity planning.
- Serve on Safety, Land Use, Energy & Water Task Group, and Sustainability Council; lead Facilities team (50+ regular employees, student workers, contractors).
- Supervise Facilities leadership team: Custodial Services, Trade Services, Grounds, and Facilities Office Coordinator; direct maintenance, custodial, and grounds operations; oversee motor vehicle fleet.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, fire codes, city ordinances, and state/federal requirements.
- Monitor College buildings and grounds; provide guidance on issues as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet student, employee, and guest needs.
What We're Looking For
- Combination of education and management experience in engineering, architecture, project management, or related fields; Baccalaureate degree preferred; minimum 10 years of experience.
- Demonstrated success in facility leadership, planning, development, and operations of a complex facility.
- Ability to cultivate inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, and friends of the college.
- Proficiency with a wide range of software tools: G-Suite, Microsoft Office, project management software, and databases.
- Exceptional interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills; analytical and strategic thinking.
- Interest and acumen for environmental sustainability and the mission of a residential liberal arts college of the church.
- High computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Projects), web-based tools, and databases; maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Valid driver’s license; must pass MVR check and meet fleet guidelines.

Compensation & Benefits
- Starting salary range: $85,000 - $107,000 per year (USD).
