About the Role Silvus Technologies, a subsidiary of Motorola Solutions, is seeking a Director of Business Development, Electronic Warfare who reports to the Vice President of Strategic Growth. You will lead Silvus’ efforts to identify, shape, and capture opportunities within the electromagnetic-spectrum operations domain, translating complex technology into strategic growth initiatives and go-to-market strategies. This role supports DoD modernization priorities and requires strong government/industry relationship building; 100% remote work is possible depending on location for continental US-based candidates. What You'll Do
- Market Strategy and Development: Develop and execute a comprehensive EW business strategy across DoD and Allied customers; define market segments, growth drivers, procurement pathways, and competitive positioning; partner with Product Management and Engineering to align customer needs with Silvus’ RF and networking portfolio; maintain awareness of CEMA, JADC2, and related modernization initiatives.
- Customer Engagement and Capture: Establish and expand relationships with Program Offices, PEOs, and Prime Contractors; lead opportunity identification, qualification, and capture planning with internal technical/program teams; represent Silvus at industry events, trade shows, and government forums.
- Partnerships and Routes to Market: Identify strategic alliances with OEMs, system integrators, and channel partners; evaluate business models and teaming strategies to maximize reach and ROI; coordinate cross-functionally to transition opportunities from pursuit to contract award.
- Business Planning and Reporting: Build a data-driven plan and forecast aligned with corporate objectives; provide regular pipeline/capture performance updates to senior leadership; maintain accurate CRM records and adhere to sales processes; travel as needed to engage customers.
- Travel: Travel required to facilitate strong customer engagement. What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related technical field.
- 10+ years of experience in business development, capture management, or program management within the defense or aerospace sectors, with emphasis on Electronic Warfare, SIGINT, or RF systems.
- Proven success in securing and executing DoD programs valued at/over $1M – $20M.
- Strong understanding of DoD acquisition processes, contract vehicles (IDIQ, OTA, BPA), and FAR/DFARS compliance.
- Technical familiarity with RF systems, spectrum operations, and EW mission areas (ES, EA, EP).
- Existing relationships within DoD EW programs and with major defense primes (e.g., L3Harris, Northrop Grumman, BAE Systems, Raytheon).
- Security Clearance: Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or ability to obtain one within 15 months of hire.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts. Nice to Have
