About this role
About the Role Reporting to the EVP Global Strategy & Technical Operations, the Director of Automation Delivery is a newly created role designed to accelerate practical, scalable automation across Bimeda’s North American manufacturing network. Based at the Cambridge, Ontario site, the role leads rapid deployment of automation technologies to improve manufacturing efficiency, operational consistency, labour optimization, safety, and production reliability across Canada and the United States. The initial 24‑month phase is highly execution‑focused, with hands‑on project leadership from concept through deployment including factory engagement, requirement capture, vendor coordination, FAT/SAT, installation oversight, integration support, and post‑go‑live stabilization. The successful candidate will work directly with manufacturing teams, engineering resources, and external automation integration partners to rapidly identify, prioritize, and implement automation opportunities delivering measurable operational and financial benefits. A key responsibility is establishing and managing relationships with local automation integrators and leveraging Bimeda’s presence in mainland China to access Tier 1 Chinese automation integrators and equipment suppliers as viable options. The role also involves developing vendor‑ready technical documentation and costing models and ensuring successful delivery and integration of automation systems across multiple facilities. Over time, the role may evolve into a broader global automation leadership function with responsibility for standards, teams, vendor partnerships, and long‑term roadmaps across Bimeda’s international manufacturing network. This role requires a practical, delivery‑oriented leader who works close to the factory floor to ensure successful implementation outcomes.
