Eckerd College - Director of Alumni Engagement

Eckerd College is currently hiring for the position of Director of Alumni Engagement to join our advancement team at our waterfront property along the Boca Ciega Bay in St. Petersburg, Florida. We are searching for a dynamic leader who creates opportunities for engagement with our growing network of alumni by planning and implementing engagement opportunities that foster lifelong connections with Eckerd College.

The Director creates meaningful, memorable experiences that strengthen alumni relationships with Eckerd College and with one another. The incumbent will possess strong project management skills with detail orientation and possess a clear understanding of the role of a private liberal arts college. An understanding of and desire to utilize metrics and analytics to make data-informed decisions will be crucial to the success of the position. The successful candidate will be an exceptional project manager and relationship builder who enjoys bringing people together, creating thoughtful experiences, managing multiple priorities, and translating ideas into well-executed programs.

Professional growth is encouraged through involvement with Higher Education industry organizations, such as CASE and the Forum of Florida Alumni Associations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute a comprehensive portfolio of alumni events and experiences, including local and regional programs, affinity gatherings, and other opportunities. Manage programs from concept through completion, including goals, timelines, budgets, venues, vendors, contracts, communications, registration, logistics, staffing, hospitality, and post-event follow-up.
  • Lead the planning and execution of Alumni Weekend, creating an exceptional experience for returning alumni and guests. Manage all aspects of the program, including reunion committees, programming, budgets, communications, registration, vendors, campus partnerships, logistics, and on-site execution.
  • Build and maintain meaningful relationships with alumni across generations, geographic regions, affinities, and levels of involvement. Serve as a visible and accessible representative of Eckerd College and identify opportunities to deepen alumni connections with the College.
  • Partner collaboratively with colleagues across Advancement and the College to develop and coordinate affinity- and interest-based alumni programs that create opportunities for alumni involvement.
  • Coordinate alumni event and program communications in partnership with Advancement colleagues, ensuring timely and accurate invitations, registration materials, event information, and follow-up communications.
  • Manage the Alumni Engagement operating and event budgets, exercising effective stewardship of College resources while delivering high-quality programs and experiences.
  • Track participation, engagement, feedback, and other program outcomes to evaluate alumni programs, identify opportunities for improvement, and inform future programming.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Relevant experience may include higher education, hospitality, event or program management, nonprofit organizations, membership associations, community engagement, constituent relations, or other relationship- and experience-focused fields.
