About the Role
The Director of Admissions leads Bethel College's student recruitment efforts, collaborating with campus stakeholders to provide a personalized and seamless approach to recruitment, admissions, and enrollment. This role designs and implements comprehensive recruitment strategies to meet enrollment goals, supervises staff, oversees undergraduate admissions policies and applications processing, and leverages CRM strategies and emerging technologies.
What You'll Do
- Develop and implement a comprehensive undergraduate recruitment plan to meet enrollment targets, including inquiry generation, outreach (college fairs/high school visits), college relations, digital marketing, and CRM utilization.
- Provide leadership, management, and supervision for the Office of Admissions staff and hire/develop personnel to support recruitment and enrollment activities.
- Coordinate with campus units (academics, athletics, student life, etc.) and committees to achieve enrollment goals.
- Administer prospective/admitted student software systems (e.g., Slate, Jenzabar); maintain data integrity and collaborate with IT on technology needs and deployment.
- Develop data-driven recruitment strategies using data sources to evaluate student characteristics, market position, and competition.
- Manage the departmental budget and allocate resources to support enrollment objectives.
- Ensure efficient processing of admission applications by developing and administering policies, procedures, and systems.
- Oversee undergraduate admissions and transfer of credit policies and supervise staff responsible for policy application.
- Ensure compliance with NAIA rules as communicated by the Athletic Director, reporting concerns as needed.
- Represent the Office of Admissions on College committees and pursue ongoing professional development.
- Advise the Vice President for Enrollment Management and support other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- At least five years of experience in a college/university admissions office, with at least three years at the associate director or director level; track record of enrollment success.
- Experience in hiring, supervision, and team development.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work with college/university administrators and high school personnel.
- Proficiency with student information systems and admissions software (e.g., Slate, Jenzabar).
Nice to Have
- Master's degree preferred.
- Experience with data analytics and CRM-driven recruitment.
