Job title: Director, Medical Affairs Analytics & Planning
About the Role The Director, Medical Affairs Analytics & Planning leads the design and execution of integrated analytics, planning, and insight-generation capabilities across international Medical Affairs affiliates (EU and intercontinental). The role translates complex cross-market intelligence, medical assessments, operational data, and scientific engagement insights into clear, actionable strategic guidance to strengthen Medical Affairs impact and decision-making. It partners with senior leadership to align global strategy with regional priorities and to drive external benchmarking and analytics-enabled improvements in field medical effectiveness.
What You'll Do
- Strategic Analytics & Insights: Lead development of integrated Medical Affairs analytics frameworks, performance models, and insight systems across international markets; transform complex data into actionable strategic insights; identify trends, risks, opportunities, and capability gaps; maintain executive dashboards, KPIs, and governance; apply predictive analytics to support planning and resource optimization.
- Medical Planning & Insights: Support integrated Medical Affairs planning cycles aligned with global strategy; collaborate with Medical Excellence to evaluate project quality; implement frameworks to evaluate scientific engagement quality, field medical effectiveness, stakeholder impact, and execution consistency; analyze cross-market engagement outcomes; translate analytics into improvement plans; support scenario planning and strategic trade-offs.
- Benchmarking & Capability Analytics: Lead external benchmarking and capability assessments leveraging STEM Healthcare and external ecosystem; evaluate capability maturity and strategic alignment; develop capability measurement frameworks; translate benchmarking insights into leadership recommendations; contribute to evolution of global capability models and analytics standards.
- Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration: Partner with Global/Regional Medical Affairs leadership and cross-functional stakeholders; ensure alignment across markets; influence decision-making with data-driven narratives; present insights to senior leadership forums; foster data-driven decision-making and AI/digital transformation; lead and develop a team (2 Associate Directors).
- Data Governance & Analytics Enablement: Ensure integrity, governance, and compliance of Medical Affairs data and analytics ecosystems across the organization.
What We're Looking For
- Strategic analytics leadership across international Medical Affairs or life sciences environments.
- Proven ability to translate complex data into actionable strategic guidance and drive planning.
- Experience building dashboards/KPIs and applying predictive analytics for prioritization and resource optimization.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration, stakeholder management, and executive storytelling.
- Track record leading or developing analytics teams; ability to influence senior leadership and drive AI/digital transformation.
- Knowledge of Medical Affairs measurement, MSL engagement, and external benchmarking.
Nice to Have
- Experience with external benchmarking methodologies (STEM Healthcare, McKinsey & Company, BCG, IQVIA) or similar.
- Exposure to international markets (EU4+UK) and intercontinental affiliates.
- Background in data science or AI/ML in life sciences is a plus.
