Job title: Director, Library Services

About the Role Anderson University seeks an innovative leader who is passionate about students and their success. The Director, Thrift Library, will oversee the Thrift Library’s administrative, operational, and technical functions and lead its full- and part-time staff in support of the university’s mission. The role requires a committed Christian who upholds the institution’s Statement of Faith and collaborates with campus partners to advance academic excellence.

What You'll Do

  • Lead all administrative, operational, and technical functions of the Thrift Library.
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for library services in support of student success and faculty collaboration.
  • Foster a culture of collegiality, hospitality, and innovation within the library and support staff in daily work and professional development.
  • Work with faculty, the Office of Information Technology, the Center for Innovation and Digital Learning, the Center for Learning and Teaching Excellence, and other academic personnel to carry out the university’s mission.
  • Manage budgeting and resource planning to support library initiatives and services.

What We're Looking For

  • A master’s degree in library science (MLS) from an accredited institution; a second advanced degree is encouraged.
  • Significant library experience with demonstrated leadership and collaboration to build internal and external partnerships.
  • Experience in strategic planning, high emotional intelligence, fiscal planning and budget/resource management.
  • Commitment to Christian values and alignment with Anderson University’s Statement of Faith.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with library consortia and collaborative licensing (e.g., PASCAL, reciprocal agreements with Atla Digital Library and Association of Christian Librarians).
  • Experience building external partnerships with academic and community organizations.
  • A second advanced degree is encouraged.
