About this role
Columbia University
Sulzberger Columbia Genome Center (CGC) is seeking a director-level scientist to lead its efforts to integrate genomics and clinical research in collaboration with the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center (HICCC). This position would work jointly with HICCC, CGC, and the Biomedical Informatics Resource to facilitate cellular and molecular analysis of clinical trial specimens via multi-modal genomics (including bulk, single-cell, and spatial profiling) and integration with clinical data stored in electronic health records. These efforts require coordination between the physician-scientists leading clinical trials and scientists in CGC and clinical informatics to identify biological and clinical questions, link these to the appropriate experimental and analytical approaches, and organize clinical studies. In some cases, these studies may also involve the analysis of patient-derived models from clinical specimens (e.g. organoids, explants, xenografts) or other pre-clinical studies.
Position Summary
30%: Developing and designing translational studies that leverage genomic analysis of clinical trial specimens.
30%: Coordinating the collection of genomic and clinical informatics data from clinical trials.
40%: Leading the integration of genomic and clinical datasets to develop new insights into patient responses in clinical trials.
