Job title: Director, HR Business Partner

About the Role The Director, HRBP is a senior HR leader responsible for leading the people agenda for Covetrus' North America Sales and Commercial organizations, partnering with business leaders to drive talent, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness. This role reports to the VP, HR North America and is matrixed to the aligned SVP/VP-level leaders, supporting and leading cross-functional Talent initiatives for Covetrus.

What You'll Do

  • Be a trusted advisor to the North America Leadership Team; build relationships to offer talent strategy and execution across organizational design, leadership development, performance management, and succession.
  • Understand the business strategy and identify opportunities to increase alignment by enabling capabilities, structures, processes and behaviors.
  • Champion automation and AI-enabled ways of working across HR, streamline processes, and improve decision-making and organizational effectiveness through technology.
  • Lead talent management and development plans, enhance leadership quality, build workforce skills, and ensure succession bench strength.
  • Diagnose gaps between current and desired performance; drive actions including organization redesign, process changes, coaching and training.
  • Review business targets and talent implications; benchmark internal/external environments to identify HR opportunities and improve policies.
  • Share best practices across functions to drive continuous improvement; liaise with HR operations and Centers of Excellence to align services.
  • Coach senior leaders on leadership abilities and delivering effective performance feedback; drive agile, inclusive teams.
  • Drive organizational design, workforce planning, succession planning, talent management, performance management, and skills development within supported organizations.
  • Analyze retention and employee experience metrics to propose systemic improvements; lead talent reviews focused on growth and organizational health.
  • Provide compensation support for salary actions, including annual reviews, promotions, re-leveling, and retention efforts.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to build scalable recruiting programs and a healthy talent pipeline.
  • Be a change champion; facilitate adoption of talent initiatives and automate repetitive work where appropriate.
  • Develop and execute global strategic talent initiatives; operate effectively in a highly matrixed environment; maintain confidentiality.

What We're Looking For

  • Seasoned HR Business Partner experience supporting Sales/Commercial organizations; strategic thinker with ability to partner with executives.
  • Deep knowledge of HR policies, processes, and talent management across multiple functions; strong influence across leadership levels.
  • Proven capability in organizational design, workforce planning, succession, performance management, and leadership development.
  • Experience with leveraging technology/automation and AI-enabled solutions to improve HR services and business outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and change-management skills; ability to thrive in a matrixed environment and deliver results.
  • Strong business acumen, data-driven mindset, and ability to translate metrics into actionable HR strategies.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and high ethical standards; experience developing and coaching HR professionals.
