About the Role The Director of Group Accounting & Reporting will work within ICON's Group accounting team to lead reporting under US GAAP & IFRS and provide technical accounting leadership to the wider finance organization and senior leadership. This is a key role in ICON's global finance function, supporting external reporting, internal management information, and strategic initiatives.
What You'll Do
- Prepare group annual reports under US GAAP & IFRS.
- Prepare and report quarterly financial reporting to the stock exchange under US GAAP.
- Prepare monthly consolidated group management information for internal purposes.
- Provide accounting and regulatory guidance (US GAAP & IFRS) to internal customers and stakeholders on key issues.
- Assess the impact of new accounting standards/regulatory changes and lead related implementations.
- Maintain a strong SOX control environment and drive continuous improvement with the wider group finance team.
- Collaborate with internal customers and stakeholders to improve processes & systems for external and internal reporting.
- Work with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement group strategy and projects (legal, tax, treasury, IT, finance).
- Support integration of acquisition targets into the group finance structure.
- Support the preparation of statutory financial statements and the related audit process.
- Coach and mentor junior members of the group accounting team.
What We're Looking For
- ACA/ACCA with a minimum of 8 years’ PQE and a proven high-performing track record.
- Strong financial accounting background; fully conversant with US GAAP & IFRS.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills; able to manage multiple deliverables.
- Proven ability to develop cross-functional relationships and influence at senior levels.
- Ability to identify areas for improvement and implement best-in-class practices.
- Confident, decisive with strong interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with a multinational company in a Group function.
- Experience with ERP systems; Oracle experience would be an advantage.
