About this role

About the Role Lead the development and execution of Daiichi Sankyo's global oncology patient advocacy strategy to ensure the patient perspective is meaningfully integrated across the product lifecycle. Drive strategic alignment of patient advocacy activities across regions and affiliates, establish global standards and best practices, and build capabilities that enable consistent, patient-centered approaches throughout the organization. Collaborate with Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, and cross-functional teams to incorporate patient insights and patient experience data into clinical development plans, protocol design, evidence generation, and broader organizational decision-making. What You'll Do

  • Patient Voice in Clinical Development: Partner with Clinical Development, R&D, Medical Affairs, and Evidence Generation teams to integrate patient perspectives into development programs.
  • Facilitate patient and patient advocacy group input into development plans, study concepts, protocol design, endpoint selection, informed consent materials, recruitment and retention strategies, and patient experience initiatives.
  • Support the incorporation of patient experience data and patient insights throughout clinical development and evidence generation activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve study feasibility, patient experience, recruitment, retention, and diversity through meaningful patient engagement.
  • Global Patient Advocacy Strategy & Leadership: Develop and execute the global patient advocacy strategy in alignment with corporate and medical affairs objectives; drive strategic alignment of patient advocacy priorities, activities, and capabilities across regions and affiliates; establish global standards, best practices, tools, and frameworks for patient engagement; lead knowledge sharing and capability building; serve as a global subject matter expert on patient advocacy and engagement.
  • External Partnerships & Strategic Engagement: Develop and maintain strategic, compliant partnerships with global patient advocacy organizations and patient communities; represent Daiichi Sankyo in external patient advocacy forums, partnerships, and initiatives; monitor external trends and evolving patient needs and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Patient Insights & Organizational Impact: Ensure patient insights are systematically gathered, synthesized, and communicated to inform organizational decision-making; partner with cross-functional stakeholders to incorporate patient perspectives into medical strategies, evidence plans, educational initiatives, and disease area priorities; promote a patient-centric culture and measure the impact of advocacy activities. What We're Looking For
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in life sciences, healthcare, public health, social sciences, or related discipline required. Master's Degree (MPH, MBA, PharmD or PhD) preferred.
  • Experience: 10+ years of related experience or commensurate education and experience (with at least 8 of the 10 at a professional level) required; 7+ years progressive experience in patient advocacy, healthcare, biotechnology, pharmaceutical industry, clinical development, medical affairs, or related fields preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing global patient advocacy, patient engagement, or patient-centered strategies required.
  • Experience working with patient advocacy organizations, patient communities, and external stakeholders on a global scale preferred.
  • Experience collaborating with Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, R&D, and/or Evidence Generation teams preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills including strong presentation skills; competent and confident in presenting to senior leadership as well as in lay terms to engage with patients and advocates.
  • Demonstrated experience incorporating patient perspectives into clinical development, study design, protocol development, patient experience initiatives, or evidence generation activities preferred.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing stakeholders across regions.
