About the Role The Director for Business Systems leads SPA’s data systems, reporting, training, outreach, and communications functions. They work with SPA Directors to streamline internal processes and to develop and maintain grants management systems and related technologies for scalable operations and reporting. The role has cross‑campus responsibility (Medical Center, Public Health, and Morningside) and acts as SPA’s primary liaison on data-system matters across CUIT, Finance, Procurement, and school/department stakeholders. What You'll Do
- Oversee the data systems, reporting, training, outreach and communications functions of SPA.
- Work with other Directors to streamline internal business processes and maintain grants management systems and related technologies.
- Develop standards for requirements, prioritization, testing, release management, and documentation.
- Manage a team of analysts and report developers.
- Serve as SPA’s primary liaison on data-system matters to CUIT, Finance, Procurement, and school/department stakeholders.
- Drive data quality and user experience; promote compliant, efficient processes for sponsored research at scale.
- Lead testing, release, and change management end-to-end; establish UAT/regression strategies; coordinate cutovers with IT/vendors; drive communications, training, and adoption.
- Plan rollout strategy for grant system reports and post‑award access for departments.
- Provide institutional reports on proposals, awards, and expenditures; and lead special projects to improve system use. What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree and 7–10 years of related experience.
- Advanced degree in computer science or related discipline highly preferred.
- High-level analytical abilities and detailed knowledge of accounting and grants management business practices and software systems.
- Ability to set standards for requirements, testing, and release management; experience managing a team; cross‑campus collaboration. Nice to Have
- Advanced degree preferred.
- Experience with grants management systems and enterprise technology initiatives across multiple campuses. Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $150,000 - $185,000
- The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
