Director

About the Role The Director will join Fitch Ratings’ North America Corporate, Infrastructure and Project Finance Group and lead the analysis, execution and rating of infrastructure and project finance transactions, with a focus on energy and power assets in the US and Canada. Based out of New York, Chicago, or Toronto, this role blends leadership with hands-on credit work to expand Fitch’s coverage in an evolving sector. What You'll Do

• Lead ratings analysis, execution and research on new and existing North American transactions.
• Evaluate innovative credit structures and participate in global criteria development.
• Identify trends, assess their credit impact and present updates in industry and market-focused reports/presentations.
• Gather and analyze quantitative and qualitative data and legal documents to produce ratings and credit reports.
• Collaborate with other analytical groups to ensure consistency and efficient multi-team transaction execution.
• Mentor junior team members. What We're Looking For
• 8–10 years of solid project finance related experience in infrastructure, including development of credit or underwriting approaches for new sectors.
• Proven project finance and infrastructure credit skills gained in banking, rating agencies, buy-side, etc.
• Strong writing and verbal communication; ability to articulate complex structures and ask probing questions to issuers and advisers.
• Excellent financial modelling skills and familiarity with spreadsheet-based models.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines; flexible to take on additional responsibilities.
• CFA and Master’s degree in Finance, Business or Public Administration preferred. Nice to Have
• Rating agency experience; Ratings advisory work.
• Deep understanding of infrastructure and project finance; experience in capital markets and/or credit analysis.
• Ability to interpret complex legal documents (bank agreements, bond indentures).
• Strong leadership and proactive stakeholder interaction across the organization. Compensation & Benefits
• Base pay for New York and Chicago roles: $140,000 – $180,000 per year.
• Actual salary determined on an individualized basis; benefits and other compensation discussed during offer.
