About the Role Cognex seeks a Director of Finance for Global Shared Services (GSSC) to oversee the India-based GSSC operations and drive high-volume, standardized finance transactions across order entry, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and master data. The role ensures monthly close, statutory compliance, and alignment with business strategies while building a high-performance, compliant finance organization.
What You'll Do
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the global shared services handling high-volume, standardized finance transactions (order entry, accounts payable, accounts receivable, master data creation).
- Oversee India accounting activities including monthly close and statutory compliance.
- Engage with RTR, OTC, and PTP leaders to align GSSC with business strategies and needs.
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls for policy and regulatory compliance.
- Lead continuous improvement with GPOs to standardize, adopt best practices, and improve efficiency and scalability.
- Collaborate with IT and other functions to design and implement automation for GSSC activities.
- Serve as primary leadership contact for India GSSC operations with regular updates and insights.
- Stay informed on industry trends to keep GSSC competitive and forward-thinking.
- Develop cost-effective SLAs for GSSC activities.
- Establish, measure, root cause, and action on targeted KPIs for GSSC.
- Mentor and develop a global shared services team, fostering a high-performance culture.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting; professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACA).
- 15+ years of progressive experience in a multinational, fast-paced environment with at least 5 years in a leadership role at the senior manager level.
- Strong proficiency in ERP systems; excellent global leadership and talent development abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with English fluency.
- Deep knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and other financial reporting standards; high attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ethics, compliance, and transparency; initiative for continuous process improvement.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels; ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
