About this role
Director, Family Office Relations
I’m Vincent, co-founder of Pairs. Family offices sit at the heart of our investor network, and I’m hiring the person who will lead the team that looks after them.
Pairs is a vetted private capital network. We put break-out founders in front of the family offices, VCs and strategic investors who fit them, and our team runs the investor relations work around every introduction. We are paid by the founder for our work, never by the round. Investors are members of the network and pay nothing. We also invest our own money alongside our members, most recently into a Series A next to a family office from our network.
Why family offices
More and more family offices want to invest directly in the best private companies, without a fund in between. The members I value most are ex-operators, people who built and sold a company and now write direct checks into companies like the one they built. They pay nothing to be part of the network. They stay because what we send them fits, and the day it stops fitting, they stop reading.
The role
You’ll lead our five IR associates, each holding a book of family offices, funds and strategic investors, and you’ll report directly to both founders. Your job is to make that team excellent and to grow a network family offices trust, which means the right deals, at the pace each member asked for, with nothing dressed up.
You set the bar and the weekly rhythm, coach every associate and hire as we grow. The most senior family office relationships stay with you, including in the regions where the network grows next.
What you’ll own
-
Your five associates: their coaching, their hiring and their results.
-
Our family office relationships. More active members every month, and every member hearing from us at the pace they asked for.
-
Senior relationships and new regions, opened by you and handed to your team.
-
A quality bar on every deal your team sends.
-
The weekly numbers, sent to both founders.
Who I’m looking for
-
Someone who has run a team of five or more direct reports and grew the people in it.
-
Time inside or close to family offices, on the investment side of a single or multi-family office or covering them from a fund.
-
Relationships with principals and CIOs that are yours, not your former employer’s.
-
A real grasp of direct investing: how a family office looks at a private company and what it needs before it meets the founder.
-
Discretion that comes naturally. Names, numbers and terms stay private.
-
AI tooling and a clean CRM handle your admin, so your hours go to people.
What you get
US$200K to US$300K total compensation, fully remote, with a few hours of overlap with US Eastern time. A team to lead, a direct line to both founders, and a family office network that grows with every month you put into it.
