Director Creative Intelligence

Scopely
ES - Barcelona, Spain Posted Oct 9, 2026
Full-time

About this role

Scopely is looking for a Director, Creative Intelligence to join our Creative Intelligence team working in our Barcelona studio on a hybrid basis.

At Scopely, we care deeply about what we do and want to inspire play, every day - whether in our work environments alongside our talented colleagues, or through our deep connections with our communities of players. We are a global team of game lovers who are developing, publishing and innovating the mobile games industry, connecting millions of people around the world daily.

Creative Intelligence, a central team within Performance Marketing, is responsible for creating the tools and analyzing the results of our creative data to improve our marketing and UA strategy across our entire game portfolio.

What You Will Do

The Director of Creative Intelligence will lead the strategy, analysis, roadmap, and team responsible for connecting creative, player, marketing, and performance insights. This role will manage capabilities across AI Ops & Data, Competitor Creative Analysis, Creative Testing, and Creative Analytics. The successful candidate will be able to interpret data through a creative and game strategy lens, translate findings into clear recommendations, and partner with Analytics and Engineering teams to build the products and workflows that make those insights scalable.

  • Set the Creative Intelligence strategy and roadmap. Define priorities, products, measurement needs, team goals, and the operating model across AI Ops & Data, Competitor Creative Analysis, Creative Testing, and Creative Analytics.
  • Explain what creative works and why. Combine creative review, tagging, performance data, audience insight, research, experimentation, and market context to evaluate hooks, concepts, formats, messaging, executions, and audience fit.
  • Translate analysis into creative and marketing strategy. Turn complex evidence into clear recommendations for what to make, scale, stop, test, or iterate. Connect insights to creative briefs, positioning, messaging, pillars, audience strategy, and campaign plans.
  • Guide games before launch. Use competitor intelligence, audience research, category trends, player motivations, and portfolio learning to identify creative whitespace and inform audiences, positioning, concepts, messaging, naming, and early testing.
  • Lead competitor creative analysis. Establish approaches for tracking competitor creative, category trends, market conventions, and whitespace, and translate those findings into actionable recommendations for game and creative teams. When needed, lead and execute competitor creative reports from development through delivery.
  • Own creative testing and measurement. Develop frameworks and test plans that answer important creative questions. Interpret results across relevant upper- and lower-funnel metrics, identify meaningful patterns, and recommend the next iteration or investment decision.
  • Own the Creative Intelligence product roadmap. Prioritize tagging, data quality, dashboards, reporting, self-service tools, AI analysis, and stakeholder experiences based on business impact and user needs.
  • Partner with Analytics, Data Science, and Engineering. Clearly define business questions, requirements, hypotheses, success criteria, and desired outcomes. Lead technical partners through delivery, validation, adoption, and continued improvement while they own the underlying infrastructure.
  • Use AI to expand the function. Use tools such as Claude and other AI capabilities to interrogate data, explore hypotheses, analyze creative and competitor trends, automate recurring insights, and make complex analysis easier for non-technical teams to use.
  • Build trust and turn insights into action. Partner closely with Marketing, User Acquisition, Product, Community, game teams, and Flamed, our internal creative agency. Drive adoption of Creative Intelligence outputs and track how they influence creative decisions and business outcomes.
  • Lead and develop the team. Hire, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary team with a high bar for strategic thinking, analytical quality, creative judgment, urgency, communication, and follow-through.

What We Are Looking For

  • A strategic Creative Intelligence leader with experience connecting creative, marketing, audience, and performance insights to business decisions.
  • Meaningful experience in at least one of the following:
  • Creative-performance analysis that influenced creative strategy, briefs, messaging, concepts, or campaign decisions.
  • Gaming, game marketing, player insights, game product strategy, or another relevant game-development or entertainment context.
  • Candidates whose experience includes neither creative analysis nor gaming context will not meet the baseline for this role.
  • A demonstrated ability to move beyond reporting what happened to explain why it happened and recommend what should happen next.
  • Strong understanding of creative and marketing strategy, including audiences, player or consumer motivations, barriers, positioning, creative territories, concepts, messaging, naming, competitive context, and creative whitespace.
  • Experience leading and developing teams across areas such as creative analytics, creative testing, competitor intelligence, AI Ops, Data, or Marketing Intelligence.
  • Experience working with engineers, analysts, and data teams to prioritize roadmaps, define clear requirements, validate outputs, and drive adoption. You do not need to build the data infrastructure yourself, but you must be able to lead the teams that do.
  • Knowledge of relevant analytical and measurement approaches, including experimentation, attribution, incrementality, benchmarking, cohort analysis, performance diagnosis, and predictive signals.
  • Hands-on comfort with modern AI tools and the ability to apply them to creative analysis, competitor intelligence, research, reporting, and workflow automation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to influence executives, game teams, Marketing, User Acquisition, Flamed, and technical partners.
  • A curious, resourceful, and proactive problem solver who can operate with urgency, navigate ambiguity, and follow through from question to recommendation to measurable impact.
  • SQL, Python, data pipelines, and business intelligence experience are valuable, but the primary requirement is the ability to interpret evidence and turn it into better creative and game strategy.
