Director Business Manager

Microsoft is seeking an experienced and talented Director Business Manager to join the Surface Business Operations Team in the United States, Washington. Responsibilities

• Manage our portfolio of operating expense (OPEX) spend and lead near- and long-term Surface investments. Be a critical partner in product roadmap decisions and bring diverse perspectives to portfolio and investment plans.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with engineering, finance, and other partners to solve complex challenges and identify opportunities others may not yet see. Contribute to process and structure improvements within the team.
• Deliver product investment plans aligned with product portfolio plans.
• Establish and maintain processes to manage and forecast spend across the Surface team (including SOWs, contracts, negotiations, purchase orders, etc.).
• Provide regular updates and recommendations to the Workspace and Devices (W+D) Leadership Team on status, trends, and implications as part of the business operational review (ROB).
• Build and maintain partnerships with Product Managers, Program Leaders, and their teams to understand plans along an integrated roadmap, manage risks, and implement mitigations and changes.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) and 8+ years of experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or related roles; or equivalent experience.
• Preferred: a Master’s Degree in a relevant field and 8+ years of related experience; or a Bachelor’s Degree with 12+ years of related experience; or equivalent experience.
