About the Role Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Companion/Buddy to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Maui. Work one-on-one to help individuals build independence, participate in community activities, and achieve personal goals, fostering inclusion and quality of life. What You'll Do
- Build meaningful, long-term relationships through one-on-one support.
- Help clients engage in community activities and programs, including events like Special Olympics.
- Assist with developing independence and life skills such as budgeting, shopping, using public transportation, socialization, and maintaining an active lifestyle.
- Provide support with dignity, respect, and person-centered care.
- Promote client safety and well-being at home and in the community.
- Create enjoyable, enriching experiences that support inclusion.
- Enjoy Maui while helping clients thrive as valued community members. What We're Looking For
- Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Passion for supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
- Patience, empathy, and reliability.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Reliable transportation and ability to transport clients to activities.
- No experience required; BAYADA provides training.

- Starting pay: $20/hour (higher rates based on experience); weekly pay.
