About the Role The Dining Services Student Worker supports Rutgers Dining Services in delivering high-quality customer experiences across campus dining halls and retail operations. You will assist in food preparation and service, help maintain clean and safe dining areas, and contribute to daily operations that ensure a positive guest experience.
What You'll Do
- Assist in the preparation and service of food in dining halls and retail operations across New Brunswick and Piscataway campuses.
- Maintain sanitary food handling and food safety standards under the supervision of cooks, bakers, and Dining Services supervisors.
- Provide dining room services, including cashier duties and handling guest inquiries.
- Support cooks, bakers, and supervisors with various tasks to ensure smooth service.
- Adhere to Rutgers Dining Services policies and quality standards.
- Help with general cleaning and facility upkeep.
What We're Looking For
- Customer-service orientation with ability to interact with guests.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced dining environment.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, holidays.
- Prior food service or cash handling experience is a plus.
- Ability to follow sanitation and safety guidelines.
