Job title: Dining Services Student Worker
About the Role Join the Rutgers Dining team as a Dining Services Student Worker in one of our dining halls or retail operations across the New Brunswick and Piscataway campuses. You will contribute to culinary excellence and the customer experience by assisting with food preparation and service, and by helping maintain clean, sanitary dining facilities.
What You'll Do
- Assist in the preparation and service of food in dining halls or retail locations.
- Provide dining room services, including cash handling and customer interactions.
- Maintain sanitary conditions in dish room operations and dining halls, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
- Guide and instruct a group of Dining Services Workers in general and specialized food handling and cash operations.
- Support cooks, bakers, and Dining Services supervisors in day-to-day operations as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Ability to work in a fast-paced dining services environment and provide excellent customer service.
- Willingness to follow food safety guidelines and maintain sanitary dining hall facilities.
- Strong teamwork and ability to guide or supervise other staff.
- Basic cash handling and POS experience preferred.
- Availability to work part-time at multiple campus dining locations.
