About the Team
The Digital Procurement Intern will bring applied AI knowledge into GSP's digital procurement strategy - helping identify, design, develop, and operationalize AI-assisted solutions across procurement operations. This role sits at the intersection of procurement domain knowledge and emerging AI capability, working across our source-to-pay landscape (Cloud ERP, orchestration, and P2P platform) to find where agentic and AI-assisted approaches can meaningfully change how procurement work gets done.
We're taking a Day 1 mindset to our end-to-end sourcing and procurement workflows - questioning what's fixed and what's not, rather than assuming today's process is the ceiling. That means developing AI and agents to complement, not replace, our orchestration layer in hybrid workflows: knowing where agentic patterns add speed and judgment, and where orchestration still carries the weight.
This is not a research project. The intern will work on live opportunities with a path to production - partnering with engineering, systems owners, and procurement operators to move ideas from concept to something that runs.
Responsibilities
- Identify high-value opportunities for AI-assisted solutions across procurement operations (sourcing, contracting, P2P, supplier management, travel and expense)
- Support the design of AI-assisted workflows, including where orchestration layers, agents, and direct-to-ERP patterns each make sense
- Bring a Day 1 lens to existing end-to-end workflows - challenging legacy assumptions and identifying where agents can complement orchestration rather than duplicate it
- Prototype and help develop solutions, from proof-of-concept through to operational readiness
- Evaluate emerging AI tools, frameworks, and vendor capabilities (e.g., agentic procurement platforms, LLM integrations) against GSP's systems strategy
- Document as-is and target-state process flows for AI-assisted procurement use cases
- Partner cross-functionally with systems owners to understand integration points and constraints
- Build business cases and present findings and recommendations to GSP leadership
- Support benchmarking against industry practice on AI-enabled procurement
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (Business, Computer Science, Data Science, Supply Chain, or related)
- Demonstrated interest in AI/ML concepts and their practical application
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and building structure where none exists yet
- Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams (engineering, procurement operations, systems owners)
Bonus Skills:
-
Coursework or project experience with LLMs, agentic frameworks, or applied AI
-
Exposure to procurement, sourcing, or source-to-pay (S2P) concepts
-
Familiarity with ERP or procurement platforms (Oracle, Coupa, SAP, Concur, or similar)
-
Experience translating technical capability into business-ready recommendations
-
