Job title: Digital Modem Engineer
About the Role Jump is seeking a Digital Modem Engineer to join our wireless team. You will lead the design and development of custom, low-latency modem architectures for point-to-point wireless networks around the globe.
What You'll Do
- Design, simulate, and realize innovative physical layer wireless communication algorithms for low latency applications
- Implement modem/system models and perform detailed performance investigations to allow performance sign-off and enable RTL development
- Collaborate with digital designers and firmware developers to realize algorithms with power and area efficient implementation
What We're Looking For
- At least 5+ years of experience in the design, build, and deployment of digital modem systems
- Deep knowledge in digital modem design, including transmit/receive pulse shaping, symbol rate throughput latency spectral occupancy analysis, carrier/symbol clock offset tracking and recovery, and adaptive equalization
- Experience with Python, C/C++ and/or Matlab for algorithm development and link-level simulation
- MS/PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
Nice to Have
- Experience in logic design for wireless modem FPGAs, ASICs or DSP data-path components
- Familiarity with RF/microwave components: oscillators, mixers, attenuators, amplifiers, couplers, isolators; Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) layout

- Annual Base Salary Range $150,000—$250,000 USD
