Digital Media Lead

Job Purpose
- The Digital Media Lead will be responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and optimization of paid and organic digital media campaigns across all client accounts.
- This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on platform expertise, leading a team of media professionals to deliver measurable results across search, social, display, programmatic, and emerging digital channels.
- The ideal candidate is a data-driven media strategist with strong client-facing skills and a track record of managing significant ad budgets across multiple industries.
Key Responsibilities
Drive Growth, Revenue & Client Retention:
- Maintain strong client relationships to sustain and grow billing.
- Drive aggressive new business development via proposals, networking, and referrals.
- Identify high-margin opportunities within digital campaigns.
- Explore and implement cost-efficient digital innovations.
Planning & Optimization of Strategic Digital Partnerships:
- Develop comprehensive digital media strategies aligned with client business objectives and overall marketing goals.
- Establish and maintain direct partnerships with (Google, Bing), Social (Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, Pinterest, Snapchat), Programmatic / Display, YouTube/Video, emerging platforms and Eskimi to secure rebates, discounts, and value-adds.
- Develop SLAs, MOUs, and agreements with clear deliverables.
- Negotiate cost-efficient media placements and value-added deals.
- Translate client briefs into actionable media plans with clear KPIs, budgets, and timelines.
- Stay ahead of platform updates, industry trends, and emerging ad formats to keep client strategies competitive.
Campaign Execution & Management:
- Foster collaboration between teams to create disruptive digital ideas.
- Ensure proper documentation and timely award submissions.
- Oversee end-to-end campaign setup, launch, monitoring, and optimization across all digital channels.
- Manage media budgets, ensuring efficient pacing and spend allocation across campaigns.
- Direct A/B testing frameworks (creative, audience, bidding strategies) to continuously improve performance.
- Ensure all campaigns are tracked correctly (pixels, UTMs, conversion events) in collaboration with the analytics team.
Implement Advanced Digital Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
- Develop and deploy AI-driven campaign tracking and reporting tools that provide real-time insights.
- Ensure 100% real-time monitoring & optimization for all digital campaigns to improve effectiveness.
- Standardize and automate digital campaign reporting templates.
- Provide timely data-driven insights to clients.
Strengthen Corporate Digital Presence & Thought Leadership:
- Ensure the agency’s website, LinkedIn, and social media pages are consistently updated with high-quality digital case studies, thought-leadership articles, and trend reports.
- Publish at least 3 thought-leadership pieces per year to position the agency as a leader in digital marketing.
- Curate and publish engaging digital content for BrandEye & DigiBreed.
- Coordinate with internal teams for knowledge sharing and content development.
Team Leadership and Talent Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of media executives / buyers, setting clear goals and providing regular feedback.
- Review team output for quality, accuracy, and strategic soundness before client delivery.
- Foster a culture of experimentation, continuous learning, and platform certification within the team.
- Conduct periodic performance reviews and ensure 100% completion of training & development plans for the digital team.
- Recommend and facilitate skill-building programs.
Reporting & Analytics:
- Own performance reporting for all digital media campaigns, translating data into clear, actionable insights for clients.
- Present campaign performance, learnings, and recommendations in client meetings.
- Partner with the analytics / data team to build dashboards and improve measurement frameworks (e.g., attribution modeling, MMM).
Client & Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as the senior media point of contact for key client accounts.
- Build strong client relationships through proactive communication, strategic counsel, and reliable delivery.
- Collaborate closely with Creative, Strategy, and Account Management teams to ensure integrated campaign execution.
Budget & Vendor Management:
- Manage relationships with media vendors, platform reps, and ad tech partners.
- Negotiate rates, placements, and added-value opportunities where applicable.
- Ensure accurate budget reconciliation and billing in coordination with Finance.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Business, or a related field.
Certifications (preferred, not mandatory):
- Google Ads / Google Analytics certification.
- Meta Blueprint certification.
Experience
- 5–7 years of experience in digital media planning and buying, with at least 2 years in a leadership / managerial capacity.
- Proven experience managing substantial media budgets ( e.g. N50M+ monthly) across multiple platforms.
- Agency-side experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success managing multi-channel campaigns for clients across varied industries (FMCG, retail, finance, etc.).
Key Skills and Competency Required:
- Deep, hands-on expertise with Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, Google Analytics / GA4, Google Marketing Platform (DV360, CM360), and TikTok Ads Manager.
- Strong understanding of programmatic buying, audience segmentation, and attribution.
- Advanced analytical skills — comfortable working with Excel / Google Sheets, dashboards (Looker Studio, Power BI), and interpreting data to drive decisions.
- Excellent client presentation and communication skills.
- Strong leadership, delegation, and team management abilities.
- Highly organized, with strong project management skills and attention to detail.
- Up-to-date knowledge of data privacy regulations affecting digital advertising (e.g., cookie deprecation, consent management).
