About the Role As a Digital Hardware Development Engineer in Motorola Solutions' Public Safety group, you will maintain and develop control hardware for mission-critical radio products, helping ensure reliable public safety communications. What You'll Do
- Support and maintain current shipping radio and console products.
- Develop and support digital, analog, and audio designs used in Mission Critical Public Safety systems.
- Develop digital circuitry (Microprocessor/DSP/FPGA/memory) and Ethernet interface; design analog/audio circuitry (codec interfacing, audio gain, power amplifiers).
- Perform circuit simulation and utilize test equipment for analysis and certification.
- Create automated test setups and execute tests using Python scripting.
- Use scopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, function generators, and audio analyzers to test and certify designs to requirements.
- Develop intellectual property for the corporation. What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (employer sponsorship not available).
- Experience with digital circuit design (Microprocessors/Microcontrollers, DSP, FPGA, memory subsystem).
- Designing wired networks with Ethernet PHY and switches.
- Designing analog/audio circuits and CODECs; measuring audio performance with appropriate equipment.
- Op-amps usage and analog design concepts (SNR, dynamic range, clipping, feedback).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with test equipment (scope, logic analyzer, signal generators, audio analyzers) and development tools for circuit simulation; Cadence is a plus.
- HDL and FPGA design knowledge is a plus. Nice to Have
- HDL/FPGA design experience; Cadence experience; circuit simulators. Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $75,800 - $100,000 USD per year.
