Job Description

Our Strategic Asset Management team delivers trusted advisory services across transport, energy, mining, water, facilities, and social infrastructure, working nationally and internationally as an integrated practice.

We are seeking a Digital Engineer/Data Analyst to join our growing Strategic Asset Management team in Brisbane. As part of the asset management team, the Digital Engineer/Data Analyst will support WSP’s Asset Manager in the delivery of the investigation, design coordination and digital asset management services as described by Transport and Main Road’s (TMR) Road Asset Maintenance Contract (RAMC). The asset management team is responsible for ensuring the integrity of road maintenance data, defect identification, analysing trends and predicting future treatment costs and timing within the TMR Brisbane Metropolitan region. In addition to the identification of future treatments, the Digital Engineer/Data Analyst will provide support to the WSP Asset Manager in analysing existing road conditions, identifying failure modes and developing potential design options to progress to detailed design and construction.

The WSP Digital Engineer/Data Analyst role is based within the Brisbane Metropolitan area and is a full-time role, predominantly based in the client Project Office in Eight Mile Plains.

What You'll Do

  • Manage asset inventory, datasets, and analysis of road maintenance data as directed by the Asset Manager.

  • Support and train others in asset information systems, particularly CONFIRM (central asset information management system).

  • Maintain and develop new data analytics and visualisation tools in Power BI or other software platforms.

  • Maintain mobile data visualisation software (JunoViewer) and develop deterioration modelling within the platform to predict the timing of future maintenance treatments.

  • Assist the Asset Manager and Client to implement defect identification from video imaging, with machine learning and artificial intelligence.

  • Monitor and report on asset inspection regimes and frequencies.

  • Support the Asset Manager to provide an interface between the Client’s Routine Maintenance and Asset Management teams on program development and approvals.

  • Conduct asset inspections in the field (predominantly pavements and drainage assets) as needed.

  • Contribute to asset management plans, including the Contractor’s Tactical Asset Management Plan.

  • Assist with the development of the pavement Forward Works Program.

  • Attend contract meetings and workshops as required.

  • Communicate with asset management specialists (WSP, Fulton Hogan, TMR).

  • Support design investigation and options analysis tasks (e.g., pavement investigations, identification of failure modes and developing treatment options).

  • What We're Looking For

  • Strong Data Transformation and analytical skills with at least 2 years of experience in database management and analysis. Robust capabilities in Excel, Power Query, Power Apps, Structured Query Language (SQL) programming or Python is required.

  • Ability to represent large datasets as visualisations within Power BI or other software programs including geospatially (in QGIS or ArcGIS).

  • Road Asset Management and Design awareness or similar related advisory roles.

  • Client-Centred Approach: Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and tailored service delivery.

  • Communication Excellence: strong written and verbal communication skills, including writing and data presentation.

  • Team Collaboration: A collaborative, team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn from and mentor others.

  • A Bachelor’s or Post-Graduate degree in a relevant field.

  • Driver’s License

  • Construction White Card (desirable)

  • First Aid training (desirable)
