Die Cutting & Finishing Lead Person

About the Role The Die Cutting & Finishing Lead Person provides support for all issues related to die cutting and finishing area production. This role directs day-to-day department activities to maximize safety, efficiency and quality, and collaborates with other leaders to meet customer requirements. Shift: 2pm-10pm, Monday through Friday. What You'll Do

• Demonstrate commitment to safety and perform duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.
• Monitor work areas to ensure all employees are working safely; provide daily coaching and feedback to department staff.
• Increase overall productivity to meet customer requirements and help drive continuous improvement.
• Work with peers and other leaders on manufacturing and quality decisions; assign work and monitor production orders.
• Monitor schedules, rush orders, hot lists, and call-ins; authorize quality response forms.
• Coordinate overtime postings and schedules; provide backup ECATS responsibilities and resolve payroll issues when necessary.
• Serve as communication liaison with 2nd shift Area Manager and 3rd Shift Supervisor; coordinate quality concerns with quality personnel or Customer Service; provide answers and make decisions related to production and quality.
• Schedule production and monitor orders to increase productivity and quality while meeting efficiency goals and customer commitments.
• Participate in daily scheduling meetings with other lead people to discuss priorities, rushes, etc.; identify and implement process improvements.
• Enhance internal and external department communication toward a cohesive work environment; participate in monthly department meetings and other meetings as needed.
• Assist the Department Area Manager with weekly/daily manning requirements, overtime requirements, and quality complaints; provide input into disciplinary issues and performance reviews; work with peers to improve quality; actively participate in lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors. What We're Looking For
• Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Safety sensitive position – ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as required; rotating shift as needed.
• Ability to work effectively in teams and in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people; interact with a wide variety of roles.
• Must have computer skills in Microsoft Office and understanding of an ERP system.
