About the Role The MRI Technologist uses Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) to create detailed images that help doctors diagnose and monitor conditions. This full-time role serves active-duty service members and their families at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, Fort Hood, Texas. The Radiology Department operates 24/7 with shifts up to 12 hours. What You'll Do
- Perform all established MRI imaging procedures and select proper technique protocols.
- Prepare and position patients for MRI; use immobilization devices as required.
- Process and develop images per established procedures.
- Assess and care for patients across all age groups (neonatal through geriatric), involving families in the plan of care and providing education as appropriate.
- Conduct calibration and quality control procedures to ensure optimal MRI equipment performance; notify supervisor of unusual findings.
- Maintain appropriate patient and operational records.
- Demonstrate knowledge of proper body mechanics. What We're Looking For
- Education: Associate degree or higher; graduate from an academic program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). For MRI Technologists, an associate degree is required.
- Experience: At least one year of full-time direct MRI experience within the past two years, including operating MRI equipment, performing diagnostic imaging procedures, and adhering to safety protocols.
- Certifications: ARMRIT registered as an MRI technologist required.
- US Citizenship required (for access to government computer systems).
