About the Role The Diagnostic Imaging Technician - MRI position at Fort Drum, NY provides MRI imaging services to active duty service members and their families. This full-time role operates during clinic hours to deliver high-quality examinations and ensure patient safety. What You'll Do
- Operate MRI imaging equipment to obtain examinations of acceptable quality while limiting SAR for diagnostic and localization purposes.
- Perform routine diagnostic radiological procedures as appropriate to the position.
- Send image series to radiologists for reading according to MTF protocol.
- Review screening forms with patients and screen personnel entering Zone 4.
- Correctly position the patient, adjust technical parameters, and determine any special patient preparation required.
- Process digital images and submit for interpretation by radiologists.
- Document procedures and maintain records per MTF policy.
- Provide MRI safety training for clinic staff and Fort Drum Fire Department personnel when needed.
- Perform system calibrations and quality control tasks per manufacturer and MTF policy as directed.
- Recognize artifacts and equipment errors; notify designated Government personnel of outlying values.
- Initiate repair call procedures for equipment malfunctions and report problems to the Biomedical Repair Section and leadership.
- Observe and report any symptoms related to adverse reactions to contrast media to the radiologist and inform of any condition requiring attention.
- Recognize the need for and institute emergency measures for cardiac or respiratory arrest. What We're Looking For
- Certificate with graduation from a JRCERT-accredited Radiologic Technology program (or equivalency).
- Equivalency could be High School diploma plus a JRCERT-accredited Radiologic Technology program or ARRT MRI certification.
- 1 year of MRI experience within the last 2 years.
- ARRT certification in MRI; board certification not applicable.
- ARRT licensure as Diagnostic Radiographer and MRI Technologist.
- US Citizenship required.
- BLS for Healthcare Providers. Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive starting salary: $124,987.20 to $135,387.20 annually.
