About the Role
Motorola Solutions is seeking a highly motivated Drone as First Responder (DFR) Solutions Architect to lead the design and deployment of CAPE drone command-and-control software within the Cloud Deployment Operations Organization. This role involves assessing customer requirements, architecting end-to-end DFR solutions, and guiding complex deployments with expert post-implementation support to enable life-saving public safety operations. What You'll Do

Consult with public safety customers to conduct detailed needs assessments and design tailored Drone as First Responder (DFR) solutions

Define system architecture, hardware requirements, and integration strategies after reviewing the customer's current infrastructure, networks, and goals

Architect end-to-end data workflows ensuring live video streams, telemetry, and captured evidence comply with CJIS security standards and local retention policies

Lead the full lifecycle end-to-end deployment of DFR and tactical drone programs, including site readiness, rooftop placements, drone-in-a-box docking, power delivery, weatherproofing, and compliance

Ensure successful system launches and full operational status, completing CPQ steps after installation and training

Design and implement CAD/RMS and legacy system integrations; configure automated dispatch triggers for autonomous drone launches on 911

Act as a technical consultant for regulatory and FAA compliance, including BVLOS/TBVLOS waivers and airspace awareness systems

Provide advanced technical support and optimization, diagnosing complex issues and performing thorough network, PC/OS, and firmware troubleshooting

Deliver remote and onsite support (50-75% travel) for deployment, optimization, and troubleshooting

Support sales with live CAPE demonstrations, pre-sale consultations, and coordination of demo logistics

Serve as SME for training teams, providing technical input for training methodologies What We're Looking For

Proven experience in solution architecture, systems integration, or related field

Deep understanding of complex public safety drone operations and the CAPE platform

Genuine passion for innovative problem-solving, with superior communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work across cross-functional teams and travel as required (50-75%)

Knowledge of CJIS security standards, FAA regulatory landscape, and integration with CAD/RMS systems Nice to Have

Experience with CAPE drone software, cloud deployment operations, and drone-in-a-box deployments
