About this role
As a DevOps / Platform Engineer, you will:
- Assess existing production environments and deployment processes to support Blue-Green deployment implementation.
- Conduct technical discussions with application teams to understand application hosting, deployment workflows, infrastructure, network routing, and system dependencies.
- Review existing CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes environments, virtual machines, load balancers, ingress controllers, and gateway configurations.
- Document application architecture, integrations, interfaces, and dependencies between applications and shared databases.
- Identify opportunities to split traffic between existing and new application versions while ensuring minimal disruption to production services.
- Build and configure Green environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
- Configure traffic routing for test users through load balancers, ingress controllers, Route 53, and gateway rules.
- Enhance CI/CD pipelines to support automated deployments, validation, rollback, and release management.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting to validate application health and deployment success.
- Support database release activities, including migrations, backward-compatible schema changes, and rollback procedures.
- Work closely with the Lead Architect and application teams to implement the designed solution and ensure production readiness.
What You Bring to the Table:
- 6+ years of overall experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or related infrastructure and deployment engineering roles.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes platforms such as Amazon EKS or equivalent.
- Practical experience with Helm, ArgoCD, Argo Rollouts, or similar deployment management tools.
- Strong knowledge of AWS networking, including load balancers, Route 53, ingress controllers, and traffic routing.
- Experience with at least two CI/CD tools: GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or equivalent tools.
- Understanding of Blue-Green deployment strategies, production validation, release management, and rollback mechanisms.
- Basic database deployment knowledge, including schema migrations and backward-compatible changes.
- Scripting experience using Python or Bash.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as AWS CloudWatch, ELK Stack, or Grafana.
You Should Possess the Ability to:
- Analyze existing application environments, deployment pipelines, and infrastructure configurations.
- Identify application dependencies, database connections, integration points, and potential deployment risks.
- Assess the feasibility of Blue-Green deployments across applications and infrastructure components.
- Design and implement traffic-splitting strategies for controlled testing of new application versions.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment workflows, validation, and rollback procedures.
- Troubleshoot Kubernetes, networking, pipeline, and application deployment issues in production environments.
- Collaborate effectively with architects, developers, infrastructure teams, and application owners.
- Maintain clear technical documentation, assessment findings, implementation plans, and follow-up actions.
- Ensure deployments are reliable, observable, secure, and minimally disruptive to production services.
What We Bring to the Table:
- An opportunity to work on a large-scale enterprise platform engineering initiative.
- Hands-on exposure to Blue-Green deployment assessment, implementation, and production validation.
- The opportunity to build automated deployment environments and modernize CI/CD workflows.
- Collaboration with experienced architects and cross-functional technical teams.
- Exposure to cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, infrastructure automation, and advanced deployment strategies.
- An opportunity to contribute to scalable, resilient, and reliable production systems.
