About the Role UCSF’s Office of Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) seeks a Designated Campus Fire Marshal to lead fire and life safety programs across UCSF’s multi-site environment. This role ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations while promoting a safe workplace for faculty, staff, students, patients, and visitors.
What You'll Do
- Serve as the designated campus fire marshal and lead fire and life safety programs across UCSF's multi-site environment.
- Develop, implement, and maintain fire prevention and emergency response plans in collaboration with EH&S and campus facilities.
- Maintain regulatory compliance across campus properties, including inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire protection systems.
- Provide guidance on fire safety design, code compliance, and life safety requirements.
- Coordinate with departments to address fire safety risks and ensure timely remediation.
- Provide training and awareness to campus community on fire prevention and emergency procedures.
What We're Looking For
- Strong knowledge of fire safety codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience in a university/healthcare setting preferred.
- Ability to manage complex multi-site programs and coordinate with facilities, safety, and regulatory teams.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Nice to Have
- Certification such as Fire Marshal (CFM) or similar.
- Experience with emergency management and incident command.
