About the Role The role focuses on cost analysis and Design to Cost within Alstom's rail and mobility solutions. You will drive cost efficiency, align technical product definitions with financial objectives, and coordinate cross-functional teams on cost-saving opportunities. What You'll Do
- Coordinate Design to Cost studies to meet agreed objectives
- Calculate and validate cost baselines; establish governance structures for cost monitoring
- Ensure alignment between product definitions and financial objectives
- Work with engineering, procurement, project management; coordinate Design to Cost activities and lead brainstorming sessions to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Identify and transform cost-saving opportunities into validated reductions
- Serve as the voice of Design to Cost within tender or project teams
- Apply Design to Cost tools and methodologies to identify and implement cost-saving measures
- Calculate and regularly update the Cost by Unit in Development at train and subsystem levels
- Define recurring cost targets with project stakeholders
- Organize and lead creative brainstorming sessions to validate savings
- Establish and monitor Design to Cost KPIs and deliverables
- Provide regular updates to project teams on cost stakes and action plans What We're Looking For
- Degree in mechanical engineering or related field
- 5 to 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering
- Knowledge of procurement and/or sourcing (an asset)
- Experience within the transportation industry (railway, automotive, or heavy equipment)
- Fluency in English and French
- Strong technical leadership with an autonomous and proactive mindset
- Ability to analyze complex data and provide actionable insights
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Nice to Have
