Design Engineer

Location (Hybrid, permanent/full-time): Hefei

What are your main tasks you can expect?

• 1. Responsible for new product development and new part design, ensuring compliance with relevant domestic (GB) and international standards;
• 2. Lead technical feasibility analyses during project bidding and development phases; produce 3D data, drawings, and technical specifications to support manufacturing cost and quality objectives;
• 3. Compile and maintain new product BOMs; participate in first-article quality approval; and provide technical support for engineering changes;
• 4. Provide technical support for in-house manufactured parts and outsourced supplier parts; participate in supplier qualification reviews and process coordination;
• 5. Monitor domestic and international standards in the automotive interior and seating sectors, and provide design solutions tailored to customer needs;
• 6. Ensure that design deliverables (BOMs, drawings, technical documents, etc.) comply with the IATF 16949 quality system and Grammer PDS process requirements;
• 7. Engage in cross-functional technical communication with customers, production, quality, and other departments to facilitate the implementation of design solutions and resolve issues.

What qualifications do you bring with you?

• 1. Technical

Skills

• Proficient in 3D design software (CATIA, UG, AutoCAD, etc.); familiar with IATF 16949 and APQP processes; knowledgeable in assembly, welding, plastic/machining, and foaming processes;
• 2. Processes and Tools: Familiar with Grammer’s Product Development Process (PDS); capable of applying DFMEA; able to prepare design deliverables such as BOMs and technical specifications.
• 3. Collaboration and Training: Excellent cross-departmental communication and teamwork skills; able to effectively liaise with customers, production, and suppliers; capable of training new employees;
• 4. Language: Proficient in English as a working language; able to handle English technical documentation and collaborate internationally;

• Possesses problem-solving and innovative thinking skills; able to provide reasonable design solutions to meet customer needs; highly responsible and self-motivated
